About the Artist:
Aidan’s work aims to capture the spontaneity of life without the boundaries of specific mediums or limitations of scope. In order to best engage with his work, one must realize that his focuses are a meditation of the present moment. Each piece is reflective of the artist’s ever-changing environment, experiences, emotions, and headspace.
A key aspect of his process is responding to the moment; specifically the wide array of music he’s listening to at the time, and allowing the creation of work to embody the state of his colorful soul in a vulnerable way. This synesthesia process is a necessary tool for him to therapeutically document his life through the evolution of thoughts and ideas through self aware measures of time.
The composition is devised through his personal spiritual philosophy of what he calls “Gridism.” This invented style is implicative of the universe being a grid of interconnected souls and the wholeness of being part of it (Art being Aidan’s place in the grid). He invites you to get lost in the rhythm and tempo of his pieces, the dichotomous balance of light and dark, calculated through the transience of his emotions.
When he is not expressing his emotions through his abstract psychedelic inspired work, he is storytelling through his other favorite medium, comic books. Currently, he is the head storyboard artist for Volition Comics, and collaborating with several friends to make “Wingspan: First Flight.”
Whether it’s jamming out to music and painting, or scribbling on his iPad, it is a wonderful life for him, full of art, friends, and collaboration.
What drew you to be involved with ALPACA?
I have always yearned to be a part of a bigger collaborative, and Alpaca is not just the best opportunity for my style of art work, but for other people in the community to greatly impact my life in a positive manner.
Art Services: Commission artwork (typically for musicians / personal gallery)
